Microsoft Billing Number to Fix Payment Method Problems

If the payment method is giving you trouble, there are a few things to check before you contact Support.

Pay with a gift card. Sign in to Redeem your code or gift card with your Microsoft account, and enter the 25-digit code from the card. The entire value will be added to your Microsoft account. When you start to buy your stuff, on Confirm, select Change > Microsoft account.

Redeem a code. Sign in to Redeem your code or gift card with your Microsoft account, and enter the 25-digit code. You’ll be directed to the Download section of Microsoft Store to get your digital item.

If you get an error message, here are some things to try:

Write down the Error ID and use Bing to search the web for info on the ID.
Take a screenshot. Hold down the Windows  key and press PrtSc (the screen will dim for a second.) You’ll find the screenshot in This PC > Pictures > Screenshots.

Incorrectly formatted cardholder name: If you have a middle initial make sure there’s no period after it.
Invalid card number: Delete any dashes or spaces, including leading spaces.
